Tonight, King J and I went out for dinner together, just the two of us. It's a fairly rare treat. We went to Texas de Brazil to celebrate our anniversary. Oh man, what a great place to eat!
We start our meal by visiting the salad bar. The salad bar is loaded with a variety of cheeses, such as fried provolone, goat cheese and fresh mozzarella. To accompany the cheeses are a variety of roasted vegetables, proscuitto, and artesan breads. Vegetable selections include steamed asparagus and hearts of palm. There are just so many choices, it's hard to decide. They also have sushi and smoked salmon.
After the salad bar, it's time to check out the sides. Their lobster bisque is just incredibly delicious. I could eat a meal of just the soup. They have black beans and rice, as well as potatoes au gratin. Now, I'm not much on the sides. So, I just taste them and wait for the main course.
The meats are served by gauchos bearing swords laden with succulent, tender meats that have been slowly cooked over an open fire grill. The choices are a little different each time we go. Tonight, I had bacon wrapped chicken breast, parmesan chicken, lamb chops, roasted leg of lamb, bacon wrapped filet mignon, beef roast and a sirloin steak. Oh my, did I really eat all that? One of the things I like about them is they will prepare the meats to order when requested. They prepare my beef and lamb to well done and bring it out to me.
Between courses, they serve fried bananas. The idea is to use them to clear the palate. I, on the other hand, prefer to enjoy them as dessert. It's the perfect finish to a delicious meal.
My favorite thing about TdB is the service. They work as a team. Beverages are kept full. When I leave the table for a moment, my napkin is refolded and a clean plate awaits my return. Special orders are offered, rather than having to request them.
This was the first time we came alone. Normally, Princess E is with us. We even celebrated an early birthday with her there last year. Until their seventh birthdays, children are complimentary at TdB. She was able to explore the menu and find all kinds of new foods to enjoy.
If you live in an area where TdB has a location, I recommend you give them a try at least once. Check out their website here.
