We had a cowgirl party Saturday afternoon. Here are the children wearing their decked out cowgirl/cowboy hats.
My girl, you've grown so much this past year. This time last year, you were wearing a size 2 shoe and now you are in a size 6 1/2! I guess we can't buy your shoes in the kids department anymore. You are doing well in the 5th grade, even if you do fight us tooth-and-nail about doing any schoolwork other than reading. Speaking of reading, you remain an avid and voracious reader (YAY!). Right now, you are fascinated with stories about girls and their horses. You still enjoy biographies, and I hope you always do. You are learning to sew, both by hand and using a machine. You are still struggling with decimals and percentages, so we are spending extra time working on those, much to your frustration. (Get over it! You WILL use them for the rest of your life, so you really DO need to understand them.) You enjoy reading your Bible and memorizing scripture verses. Recently, you wrote your very first poem, and you did a really nice job. You are playing soccer again this season. Daddy and I are your team's coaches. You are also taking ballet and tap again this year.
Oh, and you've requested to write a guest post for my blog to share on of your own recipes. Look for it soon.
